Shipping Pokémon Cards Internationally: What You Need to Know

Ordering Pokémon cards online from a Canadian store is straightforward — but if you're based in the United States or another country, you likely have questions about how it all works. At Cardboard Addictions, we ship across Canada and internationally to select countries, and we've put together this guide to answer the most common questions we hear from our international buyers.

Which Carriers Does Cardboard Addictions Use?

We ship through a Shippo-powered system that gives us access to multiple major carriers, including Canada Post, USPS, UPS, and other Shippo-supported services. The carrier assigned to your order depends on your destination, parcel weight, and the shipping option you select at checkout.

For most U.S. orders, you'll typically see Canada Post or UPS as the primary carrier, with the shipment crossing the border and handing off to USPS for last-mile delivery in some cases. International orders outside North America generally ship via Canada Post's international services.

Does My Order Come with Tracking?

Yes — every single order includes tracking. When your shipping label is created, you'll receive a tracking number by email. You can use that number to follow your order from our fulfillment location in Barrie, Ontario all the way to your door.

We know how nerve-wracking it can be to wait for cards you're excited about, so we make sure you're never in the dark about where your order is.

How Long Does Processing Take?

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Orders placed on weekends or holidays are picked up on the next business day. Once your order is packed and the label is created, you'll get that tracking email and the transit clock starts.

Transit times after that depend on your location and the carrier. U.S. orders typically arrive within 5–10 business days after shipping, though international destinations can take longer depending on the country and any customs processing time.

What About Customs and Duties?

This is one of the most common questions from international buyers, so we want to be clear: customs fees, duties, and taxes on U.S. and international orders are the responsibility of the buyer. These are charges imposed by your country's customs authority, not by us, and we have no control over them.

The amount you may owe depends on your country's import thresholds and the declared value of your package. For most individual card orders, customs fees are minimal or non-existent, but larger or higher-value orders — especially sealed product — may be subject to duties.

We recommend checking your country's import rules before ordering if you're unsure. We're required by law to declare the full value of shipments on customs forms and cannot mark packages as gifts or undervalue them.

How Are Cards Packaged for International Shipping?

Every order is packed with protection in mind. Singles are sleeved and placed in rigid top-loaders or card savers, then bubble-wrapped and secured inside a padded mailer or box depending on the order size. Sealed product is wrapped to prevent movement and cushioned against impacts during transit.

We've shipped thousands of orders and take packaging seriously — cards that arrive damaged aren't good for anyone.

Which Countries Do You Ship To?

We ship to Canada, the United States, and internationally to select countries. Available shipping destinations are displayed at checkout based on your address. If your country isn't listed as an option, we may not currently be able to fulfill orders there.

Tips for International Buyers

  • Double-check your shipping address at checkout — address errors on international orders can cause significant delays or failed deliveries.

  • Save your tracking number and check it a few days after you receive the shipping confirmation — tracking updates sometimes take 24–48 hours to appear after the label is created.

  • Factor customs clearance time into your expected delivery window — it's outside our control but is a normal part of international shipping.

  • If your order is marked as delivered but you haven't received it, check with your local post office or customs office before contacting us — packages sometimes sit there waiting for customs clearance or a pickup notice.
